Day 10- My TV addiction!

This is me over the summer after attending the Doctor Who season 8 premier at Cineplex theatre!
I first watched Doctor Who on Netfix... It had always been a show I was curious about, and let me tell you... I watched the first episode of the new age series and I never looked back!

I fell completely in the love with the clever mad man no matter what face he held... Although my favourite face was definitely David Tennant...
The adventures never get old! The puzzles and mind twist gets me every time! If you haven't seen this show before and you like Sci-fi I highly recommend it!

I got the opportunity to sample Organic Matcha from Kiss me organics, it's available exclusively on Amazon (U.S , U.K). I was super excited to give this a try, I love green tea already so I was really excited to try out the benefits of the green tea powder.

Now the fun part!! Trying this stuff out! I love green tea so I decided to try it just dissolved straight in hot water..

This was not the best idea I've ever had....! It's very strong in flavour and smell, it didn't dissolve completely so the powder sorta settled on the bottom of the glass. I took a few sips buuut it was a bit too much for me...

Attempt #2! Lets make a smoothie!

I used..

1 1/2 cups of mixed frozen strawberries, peaches and mangos

1 1/2 cup orange juice

1 tbsp lemon juice

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

1 heaping tbsp Kiss Me Organics: Culinary Grade Organic Matcha - Green Tea Powder

Well... This was delicious!! The citrus fruits complimented well with the green tea taste very well! I am very excited to add this to my smoothie routine.

It apparently is also good in baking according to the package so that will be my next adventure! 

Life has been pretty intense lately so I'm hoping to feel the benefits of the green tea powder in the next couple of days, it should help get me through some obstacles in the near future.

Something Purple

Day 9- Something Purple!

Figured I'd take advantage of this day and showcase some of the talent thats in my family. The picture doesn't do it justice as it doesn't show the purple accents as much as I would like, but it's still a wonderful painting.

 My cousin Ann unfortunately is currently located in California so I won't get to see it in person for a little while still but she was nice enough to surprise me with this gift.

The Salvation Army's Santa Shuffle

My best friend is the store manager of The Salvation Army thrift store in Dartmouth so I got the opportunity this year to get into the fun!

Of course the Salvation's Army's efforts are already extremely nobel, this event really revs it up for the holidays to help assist families and individuals in need. My favourite part is the fact that they support local families so you know your money isn't going far.

Our team managed to fundraise $1,140 this year! For a team of 3 it was very satisfying and we won the prize for most fundraised in a team!

There's the trophy!!.. It's clear I swear it's there haha.

I was super pumped by the turnout there had to be over 1,000 people attending!

And for anyone who doesn't know me that well- Sports are really really really not my thing. You won't find a metal or a trophy for something sport related anywhere in my house! So at age 23 I finally received my first participation award! Definitely just a participation award... I walked the whole route!

Our team again! Since I was planning to walk the route I grabbed some sensible heels for the route... Still gotta be me!

I would have liked to see a bit more media around, but at least Radio 96.5 made their appearance! And look! we made their Facebook Page!

My Horoscope

Day 8- My Horoscope and how it relates to me.

I'm usually not a big fan when it comes to horoscopes but I figured I'd give it a go for the sake of the challenge.

Aries (Birthday is April 19th... I like gift cards ;))

You might find your emotions a bit dampened today, Aries, but this may not be a bad thing. Try not to blow things out of proportion so much. Don't feel that you need to turn every small story into a major headline. There's no need to exaggerate the truth just to get more attention. Take a more reserved approach to your actions and reactions to all situations. Right off the bat I was reminded why I don't like horoscopes! Haha my emotions are anything but dampened today, I started my morning at a 5K walk/ run for the Salvation Army and now I'm waiting for my hair to dry to get ready for a Christmas party this evening. Today is a good day! I'm not really a fan of exaggerating the truth for anything, because nothing is more awkward then when you get caught! Well anyways... There's my horoscope for the day... Not the most accurate thing I've ever seen but it's all in fun I guess!

When Jack Layton passed away from cancer it hit me very hard. I had been a big fan of him and was extremely excited when the NDP won the opposition.
Even through sorrow he left words of optimism, someday I'd like to get this quote tattooed on me, as a reminder to be loving, hopeful and optimistic everyday.
