And yes they are all cliches this year.
De clutter
Be healthy
Feel like I never work another day in my life
I set them up on the chalkboard to remind me what I'm working towards
The de-cluttering has actually been a little fun! I feel like I've given myself the OK to purge and it's so nice opening drawers and going into rooms once they've been cleaned. It's a very stress relieving sight.
Behold my bathroom drawer! Once a place of mystery and junk, now it's possible to see everything! I reduced the makeup collection by quite a bit as well, as I've gotten older I've realized the basics are plenty... Plus half of it was expired anyways!
Memories came through while purging the bathroom, and I couldn't bring myself to throwing out my hair accessories from past proms, so these can be found in a keepsake box now.
Being healthy I know I will have more of a challenge with- working 8 years in a grocery store I took for granted how easy it was to pick up groceries on the fly. Nowadays it's more of a challenge to keep the house stocked of all the good things that make healthy eating so enjoyable- but I got this. Just a little grocery commitment is all we need!
Lastly... The hardest one.... Full disclosure I know I have a great job and I am certainly grateful for it- however I've always dreamed of a life where I can make it by doing what I love- and with the internet I know it could actually be possible! I am looking forward to continuing to work towards it even though I know the odds are thin. There's no chance if you don't try though!
Cheers to 2017 and new hopes and dreams!

14 Day TeaTox Review
So I've been given the opportunity to do a 14 day weight loss detox with Skinny Tea Tox!
www.skinny-teatox.com
It can be purchased straight on their website here which is kind of a nice change! I find a lot of products I've reviewed have only been available on Amazon, then there's shipping reimbursement and promo codes yadda yadda, much smoother transaction here I must say! Since it was done straight off their website it was so much more personal as well! The confirmation email was very personal and even allowed me to change shipping information if need be even after I'd pressed shipped! (I assume after they ship it y'know... You're done but still! That was a very nice option to have!)
The products were ordered on a Tuesday evening and I got the shipping confirmation on the Friday. Arrival was the next Tuesday. 5 business days for it to arrive- not bad!
Here is everything that came in the package!
The morning tea- loose leaf
A strawberry tea infuser (adorable)
The night tea- tea bags and an instruction pamphlet!
The daytime tea is a combination of lovely healthy herbs to boost your metabolism while the nighttime tea is where the cleansing and detox comes into effect.. Thanks to it being a colon cleanser... When I first read that I was terrified! All I could imagine was waking up in the middle of the night and my insides falling out!
I am happy to report that insides are intact! The nighttime tea has instructions to only drink it every other night as opposed to the daytime tea which is a daily routine for the next 2 weeks. Along with this tea routine it's strongly recommended to keep a healthy diet of lots of fruits and veggies, beans and lentils, good carbs, fish and protein and too avoid bad foods such as fatty meats, cheese and creams, butter, bad carbs and high sugar sodas.
One other warning that this company has put out is your water consumption, and I must say if you ignore every other instruction on this product don't ignore this one!! I am an avid water consumer already and I definitely notice a difference, I felt thirsty all the time on consuming this tea, they recommended coconut water or a sports drink to help your hydration.
So after a full 2 weeks of detox here is my report.....
I can be picky when it comes to tea sometimes. I have many many teas however a lot of them I'm not a big fan of the taste so they sit on the shelf collecting dust until tea loving guests come for a visit. This tea had a nice enjoyable taste, it wasn't too powerful so it was not a hassle to consume everyday.
I am very happy to report that my insides didn't fall out with the consumption of the evening tea however I did notice an increase in pee breaks which I know was the reason I was always so friggin thirsty! This was hard because my job requires me to talk all day and I'm already in a dry environment.
All the instructions encouraged to live a healthy lifestyle and with the energy boost with the daytime tea this was more then easy!! I was very motivated to exercise everyday (I'm hoping I can keep that up) and I kept the healthy foods flowing (I'll admit that there was a few days I wasn't a good girl and may have woofed down a burger HOWEVER I still did pretty good)
All in all I have nothing but positive things to say about Skinny tea tox, I didn't really lose any weight but my stomach is definitely noticeably flatter and I feel overall better.
I HIGHLY recommend if you want your insides to feel a little bit better to go on the 14 teatox, as long as you can dedicate yourself to the routine and schedule you will definitely feel a difference! This is not for the lazy and easily bored individual though! There is a lot of dedication involved with the teatox!

Meatless Monday- Vegetarian Quiche
So this recipe ended up making an insane amount of vegetables but they were delicious and I ended up using the leftovers for stir fry the next day!
Recipe for Vegetarian Quiche
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped zucchini
Sprinkle salt over top of zucchini and let sit for 10 minutes
1 9" pie shell
Preheat oven to 450 degrees and cook pie shell for 5 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees and cook pie shell for 5 minutes.
After the pie crust is cooked reduce heat to 350 degrees.
2 tbsp margarine
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 chopped green pepper
1 cup chopped tomato
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 clove of garlic
Melt butter in a large saucepan, add onions, peppers, tomato, mushrooms, garlic and zucchini and cook for 5 minutes or until they're nice and tender.
Add some salt and pepper to taste then gently put the veggies into the baked off pie crust.
5 Eggs
1/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 grated mozzarella
2 tbsp margarine
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 chopped green pepper
1 cup chopped tomato
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 clove of garlic
Melt butter in a large saucepan, add onions, peppers, tomato, mushrooms, garlic and zucchini and cook for 5 minutes or until they're nice and tender.
Add some salt and pepper to taste then gently put the veggies into the baked off pie crust.
5 Eggs
1/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 grated mozzarella
Mix eggs, milk, and cheeses in a bowl.
This is enough egg mixture for one quiche however there's enough veggies for like.. 4! You can make the call on how many you want to make :)
Pour egg mixture over top of the veggies and bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let sit for a few minutes before digging in. Then enjoy!

Homemade Granola Bars
I wouldn't necessarily consider these to be a healthy alternative, however they are delicious! I'd take them over a store made bar any day!
1 cup Coconut
3 cups Rolled Oats
1 cup Chocolate Chips
1 cup Almonds
1/2 cup raisins
1 can condensed milk
1/8 cup Margarine
Gently combine all the ingredients in a bowl and spread onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes in a convection oven, or 10 minutes, turn the pan and another 10 minutes for non convection ovens.

Light Alfredo Sauce
I love Alfredo sauce! But I'm not a big fan of cooking with heavy cream so here's my delicious recipe for a light Alfredo sauce!
1/4 cup Margarine
1 cup Milk
2 tbsp Flour
1 Clove of Garlic (or 1/2 tsp epicure's minced garlic)
1/4 cup Margarine
1 cup Milk
2 tbsp Flour
1 Clove of Garlic (or 1/2 tsp epicure's minced garlic)
1 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
Fresh Parsley for garnish
Melt the butter down in a saucepan over medium heat. Add milk and flour and let simmer for 2 minutes while stirring constantly.
Add garlic and cheese and whisk it up until thick and creamy!
Enjoy!
